Silk, viscose, satin and fine knitwear slip off lacquered hangers. The rubberised surface keeps them in place, so staff do not spend the day picking up and straightening, and the customer meets a rack that looks tidy. Rubberised is therefore the standard choice for dresses, tops and blouses in smooth fabrics, and for showrooms where hangers are moved often.
The surface is matt black and gives the same contrast as black lacquer. When the customer takes the item off the rail, the rubber coating feels soft and solid in the hand, which is part of the experience of quality. Read more in the guide to colours and finishes and in the article on why the hanger affects sales.
The logo is pad-printed in 1 or 2 Pantone colours, typically white or gold, on the matt surface. The minimum is 300 hangers in total, models can be mixed, and the lead time is approx. 3 weeks from approved proof. See your logo on the hanger in the The Logo Designer, or read about pad printing or laser.
For trousers and skirts, clips are still the right choice. The rubber coating is for garments that hang over the shoulder: tops, dresses, blouses and light knitwear. Many stores combine rubberised shirt hangers for smooth garments with clip hangers for bottoms. See trouser bar or clip hanger and the guide to hanger models.
