Hotel hangers: pin, metal ring and what hotels choose

Hotel hangers go missing because they are useful at home. A hanger with a pin is not: it can only hang in the ring in the hotel wardrobe. That removes the temptation without signs and without locking anything away, and the guest only notices a hanger that sits a little more firmly than usual.

The second reason is uniformity. A hotel with 80 rooms has 800–1,600 hangers, and they must look identical in every wardrobe for many years. Our hotel hanger is the Carlton hotel hanger with trouser bar and pin: 44 cm wide, 14 mm thick, in solid wood with a natural or black lacquered finish. The trouser bar is coated with transparent rubber, so trousers stay put, and the shoulders have notches for dresses and tops with straps. The pin is 3.2 mm polished metal. The metal ring for hotel hangers is fixed to the wardrobe rail and is the point the pin hangs in. Inner diameter 3.7 cm, polished metal, €0.66 per pc excl. VAT. Allow one ring per hanger and 6–10 hangers per wardrobe depending on the hotel's standard; the rings can sit a few centimetres apart.

The ring also suits places outside hotels: theatres and costume wardrobes, rental stores, gyms and conference centres, where hangers must stay put.

Natural wood is chosen for light rooms, classic hotels and places where the wardrobe stands open in the room. Black lacquer is chosen for dark fixtures, design hotels and rooms where the wardrobe is closed and the hangers are seen together. A logo on the hotel hanger is one of the few touchpoints the guest handles every day. We print it in 1–2 Pantone colours on black lacquer or laser-engrave it tone-on-tone in natural wood, from 300 hangers in total, approx. 3 weeks from approved proof.
